Glance Scroll Pro Review — Is This 5-Foot LED Ticker Worth It?
This is the coolest thing in my man cave. The Glance Scroll Pro is a five-foot LED ticker that streams live sports, stocks, and crypto across the wall. This is a hands-on review — I own the five-foot Pro, and I absolutely love it. Here's the honest review, including the parts Glance probably wishes I'd skip.
What It Is
The Scroll Pro is five feet of full-color LED — 384 × 32 pixels — and it does one job: live information, beautifully. Sports scores with team logos, stock tickers, crypto prices, forex, and weather, all scrolling in real time, with no subscription fee.
Glance sells three sizes:
- Studio: 2.5 ft
- Pro: 5 ft (this review) — $749.99 in the US
- Premier: 8.5 ft, if you really want to make a statement
Glance runs sales on these all the time, so don't pay full price.
Setup: Phone App Only, and It Was a Fight
Setup is done entirely through the Glance phone app — there's no web portal for changing Scroll settings, which is worth knowing up front.
And I'll be honest: getting it on my WiFi took real work. It only connects on 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz, and it drops the connection more than it should. Other owners report the same thing, so it's not just my unit. If your router doesn't broadcast a separate 2.4 GHz network, sort that out before you buy.
Once It's Running, It's Magic
But once it's running? It's one of my favorite things in my man cave. I've even built custom apps for it — one that shows my Plex server status and one for my 3D printer. If you're technical, the developer platform lets you put literally anything on it.
Credit to the Glance team, too: they push updates all the time, answer questions fast, and they're active on social media.
✅ Pros
- Ultimate man cave centerpiece — five feet of live data on the wall.
- Endless customization — including custom apps you build yourself.
- Live data, no subscription fee — scores, stocks, crypto, forex, weather.
- Serious wow factor — everyone who sees it asks about it.
❌ Cons
- Flaky WiFi — 2.4 GHz only, and it drops the connection more than it should.
- Setup was a fight — phone app only, no web portal.
The Verdict. It earns a nine for being the ultimate man cave centerpiece, endless customization, live data with no subscription, and serious wow factor. It loses a point for the flaky WiFi — 2.4 GHz only, and setup was a fight.
One of the coolest things I've ever bought. An easy yes from Awesomeness ★ Recommended.
